Junkin JSA-300B Break-Apart Basket Stretcher – 1,500 lb. Capacity

The Junkin JSA-300B is a break-apart basket stretcher designed for technical rescue operations where a full-size litter must be transported through difficult terrain, restricted access routes, or other locations where carrying a conventional one-piece basket is impractical. Based on Junkin’s JSA-300 platform and the traditional Stokes basket design, the JSA-300B separates into two backpackable halves for transport to the rescue site.

Once at the rescue location, the two sections can be assembled in seconds using positive-locking quick-release pins. The break-apart configuration also lets rescuers separate the halves and submerge one below a patient during water-rescue operations, or nest them together for compact storage and transport. Junkin specifically identifies the design for lengthy foot approaches, water rescue, confined-space environments, and smaller wilderness rescue vehicles.

The stretcher features a welded 17-gauge carbon-steel frame with a leg divider and footplates. A 1.5-inch hexagonal wire-mesh lining provides the basket structure while keeping weight relatively low, and the gray powder-coat finish increases durability. Four patient-restraint straps are included.

The JSA-300B measures 82 inches long, 24 inches wide, and 8.5 inches high when assembled. It weighs approximately 33 pounds and has a rated load capacity of 1,500 pounds.
