Harken PowerSeat Battery Powered Ascender/Descender

The Harken PowerSeat Battery Powered is a professional powered ascender, descender, and utility winch designed for confined-space operations, rope access, rescue, industrial maintenance, wind energy, and other demanding work-at-height applications. Its battery-powered design provides quiet, emission-free operation, making it particularly well suited for enclosed, indoor, oxygen-limited, and poorly ventilated environments where a gasoline-powered system may not be appropriate.

The integrated seat maintains the operator in an upright working position while the variable-speed control provides precise movement during ascent, descent, rescue, or material positioning. A fail-safe braking system protects against uncontrolled descent, while the battery system incorporates thermal protection that cuts power when the working load is exceeded.

Powered by a 48V lithium-ion battery, the PowerSeat provides a maximum working load of 300 kg (661.4 lb.) and accommodates 10 to 12.7 mm rope. Battery endurance is rated at approximately 550 meters of travel with a 125 kg load, and maximum ascent speed is approximately 14 m/min (45.9 ft/min). The system must be used with an independent fall-arrest system.
