The 3M DBI-SALA Confined Space Aluminum Tripod with Salalift II Winch is a complete portable retrieval system designed for vertical confined-space entry, rescue, and personnel retrieval. The system combines a 7-foot aluminum tripod with a manually operated winch and 90 feet of galvanized steel cable, providing a professional solution for manholes, tanks, utility vaults, vessels, and other vertical-entry environments.
The lightweight aluminum tripod features telescoping, adjustable locking legs for rapid setup and positioning. Rubber-padded feet and a leg-support chain provide stability, while the built-in pulley system routes the winch lifeline through the tripod head for controlled raising and lowering operations. The system is portable and designed so the tripod can be set up by a single worker.
The Salalift II manually operated winch incorporates a 6:1 mechanical advantage, free-wheel mode, and overload clutch. The 90-foot galvanized steel wire-rope lifeline terminates in a swiveling snap hook with an integrated impact indicator.
Integrated 5,000-pound (22 kN) eyebolt anchor points provide attachment capability for secondary fall-arrest systems. The tripod can also accommodate additional compatible winches and self-retracting devices, allowing the system to be configured for different confined-space entry and rescue requirements.
